PSFK San Francisco

Piers and gang have put together another PSFK conference in San Francisco. Judging from the lineup, this one will be much more directly about building brands and experiences in today’s world. Aside from my appearance on a panel, there are a bunch of people I haven’t seen for a while and am quite eager to hear what they’ve been up to. I think this is shaping up to be a really interesting and useful event.

While it’s not easy for me to say as I’ve been a longtime supporter of the 4As planning conference, it feels to me that apart from a few speakers who are sure to be hits, this year (and arguably last year too) Piers is putting on the conference that the 4As should have, but didn’t put together. Put it this way, if I had to choose where to go and/or send my people I’d be hard pressed to argue for Miami. It pains me to have to say this as there are lots of people speaking and organising at the 4As who I like and respect immensely, and has nothing to do with my participation, but I think that PSFK have clearly got a better grasp of where marketing is headed and what planners and strategists want to be hearing about.
