Update: it's looking good.
Spoke with an Apple store employee. They closed the store at 1pm but she made the mistake of coming out to see the line. They’re in getting training now, she says they’re “awesome.” I asked about quantity and she said, “I’m pretty confident you’ll be OK if you’re in the line now.”
Phew!
