Building Wifi into objects.
This post on Gizmodo made everyone at Zeus Jones race to Amazon to place our orders. For $100 you get a 2GB memory card with built-in wifi. According to Gizmodo, this works perfectly, wifi enabling any camera that takes SD.
I talked earlier about how game changing I think this could be for Nikon, seems like they really only had a very short window of opportunity that has now closed. However, the fact that Eye-Fi were able to get the hardware into this tiny space and to make a profit on it by charging only $50-$80 more for it than typical SD memory, is a revelation and opens up huge opportunities for a wealth of other products to do the same.
Now add more wifi sniffers like this and we’ll see services everywhere.
