Zeus Jones believes brands are defined by what they do, not what they say. Modern brands are guided by purpose and built on experiences. We built a company to see just what would happen if an agency infused this model into everything from product development to design to strategy. We think our case studies speak for themselves.

Wow, this explains something that I was confusing the heck out of me. I think the real reason behind this weird plan is the systems managing each of the “front doors” don’t talk to each other in the right way.
I never paid for a subscription, I got it free from Lincoln which ran a banner ad offering free 1 year subscriptions just when the paywall went live. I totally didn’t read the fine print or anything but I just figured that by the time the subscription is up, the paywall would be gone.
Anyway, what I found was the mobile site, which I prefer to the website or the app, could not retain the fact that I was a subscriber. It would make me log in, then send me to the full website and then I would have to back track and go back to the mobile version of the article. It drove me mad. Eventually I figured out the answer was to use the app, which I do not love. I think the failure of the paywall will come from the way it was implemented and not from the fact that they are charging. I need to read this Wired article!
